Tricon

Cieszyn / Český Těšín, 26-29.08.2010.

Eurocon

It is a convention that takes place in a different European country each year. The very first Eurocon was held in 1972 in Triest (Italy), where the organisation behind the convention, ESFS (European Science Fiction Society) was established.

Since then the Eurocon has taken place in many countries. It was held in Poland three times so far: in Poznan in 1976, in Cracow in 1991, and in Gdynia in 2000. The Czech Republic was the host in 2002, when Eurocon took place in Chotebor.

In 2010 Eurocon will be a joint enterprise of three fandoms: Czech, Polish and Slovak, bringing together three conventions: Eurocon, Parcon and Polcon. Therefore, the the Eurocon 2010 is named Tricon.
