FAQ

If you have any doubts how to fill in the registration form, you can find some of answers below.

1. What should I write in the field organisation/club?

There are a few possibilities. If you are a member of a science fiction club, put its name in this field. This field is obligatory if your membership is a part of group membership; in that case put the name of your group leader or the name of the group there.
If you are the representative of press, sponsor or any other organisation of that type, please write it down here as well.

2. What type of document should I write in the field ID number?

We prefer the national ID card but we also accept school ID card, passport, driving licence, insurance card or any other document with a photo.

3. Do I have to book materials in the language of a country that I come from?

No. You should choose the materials in the language you know best.

4. What do all those different kinds of membership mean?

a) adult single – is for people who decided to attend all four days of the convention. It gives you the right to vote for anusz A. Zajdel Award.

b) adult (group 10 people or more) – is for the organised groups who decided to attend all four days of the convention. It’s a bit cheaper than a regular adult membership. It gives each member of the group the right to vote for Janusz A. Zajdel Award.

IMPORTANT!
If you choose this option, please assign the group leader whom we may contact with and who will send us an email with a list of members from your group. Please bear in mind that all members of the group are required to fill in the registration form on their own. The name of the group leader is to be written in the field: Name of guardian if minor.

c) children under 12 yrs – is for children who will attend the whole convention. It’s free but the child must be accompanied by a guardian.

d) international supporting membership – it gives you the right to vote for Janusz A. Zajdel Award. It’s more expensive than the domestic supporting membership due to higher mail fees for letters sent abroad.

e) one day membership – it allows you to attend the convention for one day. The prices for different days may differ.

g) one day membership for children under 12 yrs – is for children who will attend one day of the convention. It’s free but the child must be accompanied by a guardian.

5. I’m under 18. Do I need a guardian?

Yes, but it doesn’t have to be your parent. You can ask you your older friend to be your guardian. Put the name of that
person in the field: Name of a guardian if minor. IMPORTANT: The guardian should attend the convention for as many days as you do.

6. What does the “quiet student accommodation” mean?

This is a separate student hostel for people who like to sleep at night. :D It is also the student accommodation for people with small children. In this student hostel the rules of nocturnal silence are obligatory and if broken, security may be called to intervene.

7. What is “day care”?

We know that many of you have small children. The day care is a place where you can leave your children (over the age of 3)
under the care of teachers, students of pedagogy and volunteers who will provide games and other activities for the children.
The day care will work during the whole convention.

8. Who is a gopher?

A gopher is a volunteer. He helps with the convention: checking the rooms, cleaning the mess, helping other members. You can’t run a convention without gophers.
Hard-working gophers will be awarded with special prizes.

9. What is “Address for correspondence (if different)”?

This is the snail mail address you want any correspondence from us to be sent to. In some countries those two addresses differ. If you are a student living in a student hall, you can choose the address of your student hall as the correspondence addresss as well.

9. Can I keep pets in the dormitory?

Unfortunately no.
